‘Character Building’

An inspirational book written by ordinary people

‘Character Building’ is a compilation of inspirational short stories and poems, written by ordinary people.  A number of aspiring and established authors have been given the freedom to tell their stories of positive, life changing experiences.  The result is a unique collection of personal thoughts and motivational reading.

Editor Dawn McGruer, of marketing specialist Aurora Marketing explained:

“The idea for the book came from meeting a great number of people who had encountered difficult situations and found that writing helped them to cope. Character Building is a collection of stories, which appeal to everybody and makes a perfect gift for friends and family.”

Character Building features writings by several celebrity contributors, who were keen to share their own experiences and thoughts.  Anthea Turner prepared the foreword for the book, which is endorsed by Sir Nigel Hawthorne CBE DL. Anna Walker shares her own experiences in a personal short story. Other well-known celebrity supporters include Annette Crosbie, Phillip Schofield, and Nickolas Grace.

Each composition describes how an experience has acted as a turning point that has helped to strengthen the author and improve the way they lead their life.

The Cancer Research Campaign is supporting Character Building and will receive a proportion of the book’s cover price (£7.99) for every book sold. Sir Nigel Hawthorne applauded this, explaining:

“As someone currently going through treatment for Cancer, I recommend ‘Character Building’ as it is supporting a cause very close to my heart.”

Phillip Schofield added:

“In this volatile world we live in, its good to know there’s a book out there that will help bring out the inner strength in people and enable them to overcome the most difficult of situations.  ‘Character Building’ does just that.”
